Brahms & Franck

Johannes Brahms and César Franck were two contemporary composers who never personally met. However, both were at the peak of their creative powers in 1886: the German started writing his Violin Sonata No. 3 while the Belgian wrote and finished his celebrated Sonata in A major — two milestones that perfectly summarise the personality and craft of their creators.
